Just a note, they is a visual difference for GWAMM and GWAMM + complete HoM, but it is very subtle. You get some stars (similar to celestial weapons) around the big statue. Find a r5 and a r6 with a complete halls, and you will notice them.

lol great idea ^^^
I'm going for GWAMM but the thing is im not really considering it as grind, if im not havin fun then i wouldn't play. I don't care what effect it has on gw2 as to me they are different games - i will still buy gw2 though. The point of the HoM is just a nice little extra its not a requirment to be completed by the way people , which i believe some of you are forgetting.

And while yes high ranked accounts have been sold and bought any of the decent players that are still around will know that you don't know jack-sh#@ in the first 5 minutes of playing with you.
As for items, it is still mixed in weather or not it transfers but tbh I think anet said somehting about it not happening.

I love how PVPers feel that thier titles are the only ones that matter. Aye, PVP titles do show how well you did, but it is just a grind of another kind. PVE titles also show how well you did. Such as Guardian and Vanquishers. So what that PVP fight others and PVE fight the computers and story line. Same kind of thought towards your skills and tactics are needed. I know PVPers who cant do squat in HM areas and its epic failway every time for them. PVPers are good at one aspect of the game, PVErs are usually good at another, so get off your high horse.
As for whether your titles will mean something in GW2? Who cares? At the moment, that is years away and it really comes down to...What do your titles mean to you NOW in this game? You either want GWAMM or not. Sure some of the titles mean you grinded, still means you knew enough to accomplish that well enough, and others show how much money you were able to acquire during the game, but some really do show how well you understood how your skills and team designs, tactics and strategies worked for you.
GW has stated many times over that the HoM will only unlock unique pets, heros, armours and weapons in GW2. These will in no way be "better" than what others will get just because they didnt play GW1, they will just be different. Kind of like the Preorder releases of games with other weapon skins found no where else in any game. So you just need to decide if you would like to have different things in GW2 or the same as everyone else. Either way, what else are you going to do, or spend your money on, for the next 2 years until GW2 comes out?

No one knows, if you are "pro" enough that you want to get GWAMM, then do it. I don't think Anet is gonna offer any bonuses for that in GW2, after all, it's merely a title, and if there are rewards for this title, should there be rewards for other titles as well?

I realise that people deserve rewards for spending so much time on titles because it shows their dedication and that they do require a lot of time put into them and should therefore have a reward but this made me rage.

Fixed. What happened to playing a game for fun, or for the sake of completion? Do people only play nowadays because it will give you something, anything in GW2?

erm... Isn't that the point of the the HoM? You display titles/minis/armour/weapons/heroes and it confers some kind of benefit in GW2...

Honestly, I'm of the opinion that the more titles you have the shittier you probably are at Guild Wars because you spend more time farming titles and less time getting skill. I hope Anet rescinds their claim of reward in GW2 just so I can hear the wonderful symphony.

I've always seen the HoM as a way to display my achievements in GW1, not a means to give me some cool stuff in GW2. But hey, that's me.

GWAMM = prestige.
As such its effect in GW2 will also be prestige. Big flashy nice things to have that no one else can get, but which have zero effect on the actual game mechanics. It would be unbalanced and unfair any other way.
As to what those things are I think there are some pretty good guesses in this thread already.
Game design 101: Keep It Simple Stupid.
It will almost certainly be the things you expect it to be. Trust me, this has been my job for the last decade.
As for me personally, I got a great full time job, a GF, mortgage and busy social life. I've still found time to max 24 titles. Just 'cause its fun ...

Yeah; bring on that "rare" gwamm mini reward in gw2 that gives no benefit whatsoever on the actual game mechanics; but will earn me a shitload of cash when and if i sell it!

It should not give you anything that can be made into money.
So it should either be armor, customized weapons, maybe customized minis, or an aura... but nothing that can be used by another account.
